The historic cellar of Domaine Fontanel, located on the main street of Tautavel, was built in 1864. It has witnessed the work of several generations of winemakers and retains all the authenticity of our village and its winemaking traditions.

This cellar has become our tasting room and welcome area. We present our wines in a relaxed and informal manner, with more technical explanations available upon request. Feel free to ask any questions; it’s a pleasure for us to share our passion and this way of life. We welcome both curious newcomers and lifelong enthusiasts. Whether you’re already familiar with the grape varieties of Roussillon or looking for a gift without any prior wine knowledge, you are most welcome.

In the tasting room, you can sample a selection of our Roussillon wines and discover the different profiles of our cuvées. There are no right or wrong answers, and no required vocabulary. The most important thing is to enjoy observing, smelling, tasting, and sharing your impressions.

Our wine cellar is located in the heart of Tautavel, an iconic village in the Pyrénées-Orientales, nestled between scrubland, limestone cliffs, and vineyards. It’s an ideal stop during a visit to the Roussillon region, a stroll in the surrounding area, or a wine tourism getaway.

We are delighted to share our world with those who wish to meet a winemaker, learn about their work and the terroir, or simply choose the perfect bottle for them.

In 2024, we took over a building of the former Montner cooperative winery, renovated by Bernard Magrez in 2008. This new facility has housed our harvest since August 2025. We would be delighted to show you around this new production site, equipped with modern equipment (stainless steel tanks, membrane press, etc.). This visit is by prior reservation only.préalable.

A good winemaker is a good observer. We visit our vines daily and you are invited to accompany us on a tour of our terroirs. Bring good shoes, our terroirs deserves it !
